Dr Wells undertook his Undergraduate training at Guys & St Thomas's Hospital, London qualifying as a Doctor in 1996. He undertook an intercalated BSc in Clinical Pharmacology in 1993 at the Rayne Institute, St Thomas's Hospital London.
Dr Wells undertook post-graduate training in numerous hospitals along the South Coast of England and Sydney, Australia. He was appointed to the Wessex Cardiology Registrar programme in 2000 finishing his PCI training in Western Australia in 2006.
Dr Wells was appointed and has been a Consultant Cardiologist at Salisbury District Hospital and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Bournemouth Hospital since 2007. He specialises in both coronary artery stenting (PCI) for coronary artery disease as well as pacemaker and complex devices for heart rhythm problems.
Dr Wells was a member on the BCIS (British Cardiovascular Intervention Society) committee 2016-2020 and was Clinical Lead for Cardiology at Salisbury Hospital from 2013 - 2017.
